Before you stock your garden tool shed, you should first think about what kind of gardening you do. Go through the following list of questions and jot down the answers. This will help you think about what tools you’ll really need for gardening and yard care.
- How much time do you spend gardening?
- Do you have large or small garden plots?
- Do you have a lawn with turf grass? If so, how big is your lawn?
- Do you want to growing primarily ornamental plants?
- Do you plan on growing fruits and vegetables?
- Do you have shrubs and trees that may need pruning?
- Do you have a number of houseplants?
- Do you compost your garden waste and kitchen scraps?
Another important tip for when you’re ready to buy your garden tools is to purchase the highest quality tools that you can afford. If you purchase cheap tools, they typically won’t last very long and you’ll end up spending more money replacing them than if you’d purchased high quality garden tools to begin with.
